Five Ways to Start Pursuing Your Dreams

"We are the dreamers of dreams....of the world forever it seems." -Arthur O'Shaughnessy

Sometimes, it can be scary to dream. When things seem illogical we often times will shy away from it - however, when it comes to dreaming we have to keep our eyes and mind wide open.
Lately, I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do with my passions and talents. For so long, I decided that those things could only stay in my head because they were "too far out there" or "too frightening" - but no more. I'm choosing to go full steam ahead and you should too!

Here are Five Ways to Start Pursuing Your Dreams!

1. Improve on Your Passions
To me, when someone is passionate about something, it is the most beautiful thing in the world. Whether you're passionate about rocks, writing, singing, or sports, you need to choose to further your knowledge in what you love. Practice everyday, learn something new about your favorite subject that you didn't know before!

2.Write Down Your Aspirations
Dreamers explore - and to explore your dreams, you should write them down. Make them concrete. Even if they are far fetched, you'll thank yourself later! Keep track of what you want to do with your life. Sometimes, those ideas will spark others and soon you'll be spouting out epiphanies left and right!
3. Find others Who Have Accomplished What You Wish to Accomplish
Surrounding yourself with like minded peers and mentors will make such a difference when you begin the pursuit of your dreams! In fact, I would take it a step further and say surround yourself with people who are better than you - this will increase your drive to succeed and allow you to learn simultaneously.
4. Know That You're Important
Your ideas matter. I repeat, YOUR IDEAS MATTER. You are a unique, wonderful, human being and there is no one else on this earth like you. No one can create what you create. Your thoughts are your own. The sooner you realize this, the more confident you will become on your journey to success - and I promise you, people notice that.
5. Doubt Will Happen
Sometimes, in the midst of idolizing our favorite stars, we forget that they often had humble beginnings. Every individual that we consider to be great started out as ordinary. You know as well as I do that as we cultivate our talents, it can get frustrating. You may feel uninspired for a season, and that is normal. I would argue that those who have no fear about their passions don't truly respect the talents they've been given.
